BioVivo Science Launches Standardized Saw Palmetto Line, VeriPalmetto

BioVivo Science, a supplier and manufacturer of U.S.-made botanical ingredients, is launching a line of fully controlled, traceable, and scientifically authenticated saw palmetto ingredients, VeriPalmetto.

Saw palmetto (Serenoa repens) is a well-established botanical studied for its role in prostate and urinary function, testosterone, and hair health. Nearly 90% of the world’s saw palmetto berries are harvested in Florida during late summer and early fall, when they reach peak ripeness and contain the highest levels of the fatty acids and phytosterols linked to their health benefits.

“Demand for saw palmetto continues to grow as consumers increasingly seek established botanical solutions for healthy aging and men’s wellness,” said James Roza, VP of technical services at BioVivo Science. “At the same time, brands are placing greater emphasis on ingredient authenticity, traceability, and US-sourced, US-made supply. Our VeriPalmetto™ saw palmetto line was developed to meet these priorities, offering scientifically authenticated ingredients with standardized fatty acid profiles and flexible formats for a range of nutraceutical applications.”

BioVivo Science sources fresh berries through a network of Florida harvesters instead of purchasing already-dried material, giving greater oversight over berry maturity, drying conditions, raw material integrity, inventory, and batch-to-batch consistency. BioVivo Science processes the berries at its extraction and manufacturing facility in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

High fatty acid percentage alone isn’t sufficient to authenticate ingredients, the company reported. Lower-cost animal lipids and non-saw-palmetto fatty acids can be blended to mimic expected fatty acid levels in a form of adulteration.

Every production batch of VeriPalmetto undergoes testing for identity, fatty acid composition, residual solvents, and other quality specifications. BioVivo Science provides documentation and certificates of analysis to support transparency and regulatory confidence in its supply chain.

From harvest and drying through extraction at our U.S. facility, every critical step is managed with greater transparency and oversight, giving customers a more traceable, consistent, and secure domestic supply … the 2026 harvest began in early August, and we are anticipating labor constraints that could impact berry availability this season. VeriPalmetto ingredients are available in liquid and fine-powder extracts to accommodate various nutraceutical formats, with standardized fatty acid profiles of 95%, 85%, 45%, 25%, and 15%.
